On Sunday evening, we shall hold our Kol Nidre service in which we will be talking about this years’ High Holy Day Appeal.
As with every year, there are many charities that really deserve to be recipients of these appeals. However this year, particularly in view of the situation we all face with Covid 19, we felt that it right that our Appeal should be in aid of Women’s Aid and JAMI (Jewish Association for the Mentally Ill). You can click on their names to find out more abou them.
Our two charities this year, were choices that acknowledge the extraordinary demands that have been placed on society by the global pandemic, with many trapped at home facing increased risk of harm as a result of domestic abuse or mental ill health
That is why, this year more than most, we ask that you please contribute as much as you can to our Appeal. The third recipient this year is, as is customary, our own ELELS Synagogue, which has also tried to provide help and advice for all our members through these difficult times. We all benefit from the community that our Synagogue is, and has been shown to be especially during the last six months.
There are three ways to donate:
- You can donate on our Just Giving Page: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/ELELSHHDappeal5781
- By Bank Transfer- Bank: Lloyds, Sort code: 30-94-51, Acc No: 52734368. Ref:AppealNAME
- Or by sending a cheque to our Synagogue office marked HHD Appeal.
Thank you so much on behalf of the Rabbis, Council and those charities that you are helping to support.
We look forward to seeing you at our services for Shabbat Shuvah and Yom Kippur and the future.
Shabbat Shalom and Shana Tova,
Stewart Spivack (Chair)
