We are delighted to be welcoming a young man called Anas to our synagogue. Anas is a very recent arrival in Britain; a refugee from the six year civil war in Syria. He was born and brought up in Aleppo, where his parents still live. He will talk about his experiences, his impressions of his new country and his hopes and dreams for the future. He might even be persuaded to sing for us in Arabic or Hebrew! Please make a special effort to come to the service and give Anas the warmest of welcomes.

Rabbi Professor Marc Saperstein will be speaking, at the Tikkun Leyl Shavuot services, about his new book Agony in the Pulpit. The talk will focus on the responses of three famous British Rabbis - Chief Rabbi Hertz, Ignaz Maybaum (Reform) & Israel Mattuck (Liberal) - to the growing awareness of the Shoah during the second World War.
