At ELELS, most of our services are enhanced by the singing from our choir. It is a loosely based group and we are always happy when new people want to join in. We sometimes have a short practice before a Shabbat morning service, to either practice an old tune, or introduce a new melody. Everyone is welcome to these and it’s a good way to dip your toe in – check the ELELS calendar.

We are really lucky to have a wonderful choir leader to help us to prepare for the High Holy Day services- Hannah Jacobi, herself an accomplished and professional musician. Some of our services are accompanied by Chris South, a talented organist, while others are supported by Rabbi Jacobi on the guitar. Both provide a different atmosphere.

Our choir has also performed Shabbat Resouled services at ELELS which feature a live band and modern musical settings. Check the calendar to see when our next one will be!

If you would like to join in with the choir please do talk to one of us or contact the office at We don’t audition!
